Last month I finished reading over ten books, which was a first for me. I’ve always loved browsing the bookstores, but I never made much time to read in the past. This was because most of the books that I would borrow from the library or purchase on a whim at the bookstore never turned out to be great reads. This may be partially due to the fact that I used to choose books based on their covers. (I know I’m not the only one!) Since then, I’ve been utilizing Goodreads to get an idea of a book’s ratings. It’s been incredibly helpful in steering me towards picking books that are suited to my taste. This month, I’ve got a wide range of books to read but I’m sharing the thrillers! Here are 4 thrillers on my TBR list.

1) 18 Miles from Town by Jason Henderson
Genre: Mystery/Thriller
Publication Date: December 2021
Description: “Mike Dotson used to be an in-demand writer of thrillers and books based on famous TV shows, but he watched his career slip away as he traded it all in for steady work and a family. Now, a workplace shooting leaves the fifty and widowed Mike with time on his hands—time he intends to use to write his comeback novel on his dilapidated family farm. But a gang of thrill-killers and the reappearance of an old girlfriend throw his plans into disarray and threaten his life. Mike has no choice but to get serious about his own survival.”
2) The Minotaur Sampler, Volume 4 by Various Authors

Description: “Looking for a new book that will make your heart race? The fourth edition of The Minotaur Sampler compiles the beginnings of six can’t-miss novels–either standalone or first in series–publishing Winter 2022 for free for easy sampling.” Books included in this sampler are The Shadow House by Anna Downes, A Flicker in the Dark by Stacy Willingham, Under Lock & Skeleton Key by Gigi Pandian, The Resting Place by Camilla Sten, The Night Shift by Alex Finlay, and Pay Dirt Road by Samantha Jayne Allen.
3) We Are 100 by Nathan Timmel
Genre: Mystery/Thriller
Publication Date: March 2021
Description: “After losing his wife, Evan Francart is depressed. He has an axe to grind with the pharmaceutical company that jacked up the price of her medications, but feels powerless against a billion-dollar corporation. Then he meets Cassandra. She shows Evan a way to both end his life and become a hero.”
4) The Overnight Guest by Heather Gudenkauf
Genre: Mystery/Thriller
Publication Date: January 2022
Description: “She thought she was alone… True crime writer Wylie Lark doesn’t mind being snowed in at the isolated farmhouse where she’s retreated to write her new book. A cozy fire, complete silence. It would be perfect, if not for the fact that decades earlier, at this very house, two people were murdered in cold blood and a girl disappeared without a trace. As the storm worsens, Wylie finds herself trapped inside the house, haunted by the secrets contained within its walls—haunted by secrets of her own.”
