Something strange is happening at Orsk. There’s something dark and sinister that lurks within. In addition to their poor sales, employees would start their opening shifts by finding broken furniture and shattered glass, even though the security cameras don’t capture anyone in the store overnight.

When manager Basil asks employees Amy and Ruth Anne to work a nightshift to unravel the strange happenings, they had no idea that they’d be in for the longest night of their lives.
Horrorstör is packed with action and adventure. The author wastes no time getting into the strange happenings at Orsk. There are so many twists and turns throughout this book that it’s difficult to put down. Hendrix knows exactly how to keep his audience engaged and at the edge of their seats. He also takes the time to sprinkle in some comedy to keep some situations light.
I love the cover of this book and the illustrations inside. It truly mirrors an Ikea catelogue. You can find Orsk’s showroom map, home order delivery forms, furniture sketches along with their sizing information, item numbers, and available colors. The visuals were a great addition as I found myself referring back to the showroom map on multiple occasions. Hendrix takes us from floor to floor, showroom to showroom, and I believe he included the visual so we’d be able to know exactly where these characters are stuck and where they’re trying to go next.
Horrorstör was a fantastic story that took its readers on a rollercoaster ride. The only critique I have is that the ending felt rushed. I’m still holding out hope that Hendrix will decide to work on a sequel because this story left me wanting more. I’m a huge fan of horror films and kept thinking how great it would be if this story was made into a movie. After a quick Google search I found out that it is indeed happening. I cannot wait to see this story brought to life. Hopefully the success of this upcoming film will prompt Hendrix to work on a sequel. I highly recommend this book to horror fans.
