Sustainable Travel is a book that offers practical and achievable advice for those who wish to make a difference in the way that we experience the world. Holly Tuppen is a sustainability expert who’s had over a decade of responsible travels, one being seeing the world without flying. Some things she includes in this book are embracing slow travel, reducing your carbon footprint, packing responsibly, and benefiting the people, culture, and places that you visit.

I am passionate about sustainability and have learned a lot from this book. I’ve been finding new products throughout the years to reduce my waste and this book sheds a whole new light on things we should also be focusing on. Tuppen provides evidence with facts, but she also provides alternative options to consider. When we decide to make changes in our lives to benefit the environment, we may think we have to give a lot of things up, but this isn’t necessarily the case.
I appreciate that Tuppen gives sound advice and provides numerous options that we can adapt into our lifestyle, so it doesn’t leave the reader feeling as though we must make big sacrifices to enjoy our travels. This book is filled with beautiful photos and it really gets you looking forward to your next trip. Thank you to NetGalley and Quarto Publishing Group – White Lion for this advanced reading copy (eARC) in exchange for my honest review. Sustainable Travel is now available for purchase on Amazon.

I’m glad you enjoyed this book! Sustainable travel is so important. My minor in post-secondary was Tourism Marketing and one of my courses was sustainability! A lot of people don’t realize travelling when done wrong is not eco-friendly at all. Thanks for sharing x

Sounds like a great book to read for when the pandemic will be gone and everyone will be rushing to catch up on travelling. I can already see people being a bit more mindless about things because of the stress that has accumulated in the past 2 years ( and that is totally valid, I see myself making some questionable choices from time to time too) but a book like this one could help us take a second more to think about our trips and actions. Thanks for presenting it!
Her Digital Coffee says
I completely agree Anda! Thank you for reading!

Great review! This sounds like such an important book, I think when travelling it’s all too easy to buy the cheapest possible items – even when they’re not very sustainable. I love that the author suggested some swaps to make in order to work towards travelling more sustainably. Thanks for sharing x
