I am a huge fan of Collins and first discovered him in 2008 on the hit TV show, Supernatural. Since then, I’ve been invested in his personal endeavors such as his writings and his work in philanthropy. I’ve had the opportunity of meeting Collins twice, and these poems allow his fans and new readers to know him on a deeper level. Whether you are familiar with Collins’ work or not, there are beautiful poems about appreciating the simple joys in life, small observations, and relatable life moments that we can all appreciate and connect with. My favorite poems include “Clasped”, “Fall Back”, “These Hours”, “In Passing”, “Watershed”, “Fire and Water”, and “In My Hotel Bed.”
Some Things I Still Can’t Tell You includes a blend of long and descriptive poems along with ones that are short and sweet. Each piece leaves a lasting impression and allows room for the reader’s own interpretation. I have been looking forward to this book for months and it did not disappoint. Thank you to NetGalley and Andrews McMeel Publishing for this advanced reading copy (eARC) in exchange for my honest review. Some Things I Still Can’t Tell You will be released on October 12th, 2021. I must admit, I’ve never actually sat down and read a poetry book! Perhaps because it reminds me of school haha. Although I do like when I come across poetry and I’m always in awe at how these authors can express themselves so beautifully!
Her Digital Coffee says
I never resonated with the poetry that we used to study in school either! It’s now one of my favorite genres as I’ve discovered different authors and their styles of writing. Thank you for reading Vourneen!
