Can you believe it’s almost September? Fall is just around the corner and it’s my favorite time of year. According to my Twitter poll, a majority of you can agree that fall is your favorite season as well. Besides the smell of fresh brewed pumpkin coffee, the magnificent array of colors, and the crisp air, there are so many things to appreciate about fall.
If you are already planning ahead and looking for some fun activities to enjoy with your loved ones, I’ve got you covered. Whether you like staying in or going out, there’s something for everyone. Here are 7 fun activities to enjoy fall.
Staying In
1) Home Décor I love fall décor; it adds an extra layer of coziness to your home. There are so many décor pieces to choose from and just as many places to find them. You can even create your own pieces and have a fun DIY session. I’m a sucker for fall-themed candles and wash cloths. Some of my favorite places to shop for fall décor include Michaels, Marshalls, Dollarama, and Pier 1 Imports.
2) Try a New Recipe There are loads of tasty fall recipes just waiting to be discovered. You can find a recipe for something as simple as apple spiced tea to something more advanced like pumpkin pie. Get creative and challenge yourself with something new. My favorite fall recipes include pumpkin lattes and butternut squash soup.
3) Movie Night Don’t feel like going out? Cozy up on the couch with a good fall movie. Some of my favorites include Halloween (1978), The Conjuring (2013), It’s The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown (1966), and Coco (2017).
Going Out
4) Go Hiking Time to bundle up in your oversized sweater, cozy scarf, and snug boots! Fall is the perfect time for exploring. Get your family and or friends together to experience the crisp air and beautiful fall colors up close.
5) Farmers Market There are a variety of delicious fruits and vegetables in season for the fall. Visit your local farmers market to pick up some fresh produce such as pumpkin, brussels sprouts, cranberries, and crab apples! Treat yourself to a delicious home cooked meal and don’t forget the dessert!
6) Visit a Corn Maze My first experience at a corn maze was during the month of October for an event called The Corn Maze of Terror. It was a fun and thrilling night filled with screams. I’m looking forward to visiting the corn maze again but this time for a more tamed experience. Most corn mazes offer pumpkin displays, photo ops, harvest lights, gemstone mining, and more! Visit your local corn maze for more information.
7) Local Activities Besides the activities mentioned above, be sure to check what events are taking place near you. It’s a great time to experience what your city has to offer. Perhaps you’ll find an event that’ll turn into a yearly tradition.
I hope this list gives you some activities to look forward to this fall. If you’re looking for more ideas for things to do before summer ends, visit my post here. What’s your favorite thing about fall? What’s your favorite fall activity? Share your thoughts!
