From the publisher: Frank is shocked when his daughter, Maggie, calls him for the first time years. He was convinced that their estrangement would become permanent. He’s even more surprised when she invites him to her upcoming wedding. He arrives to find that the wedding is at a private estate and Maggie failed to mention that she’s marrying Aidan Gardner, the son of a famous tech billionaire. Frank needs to know more about this family his daughter is marrying into.
2) These Silent Woods by Kimi Cunningham Grant

From the publisher: No electricity. No connection to the outside world. For eight years, Cooper and his daughter, Finch, have lived in isolation in a remote cabin in the northern Appalachian woods. And that’s exactly the way Cooper wants it, because he’s got a lot to hide. The only people who know they exist are a local hermit and Cooper’s old friend, Jake, who visits each winter to bring them food and supplies. But this year, Jake doesn’t show up…

3) The Doll’s House: A Short Story by Lisa Unger
Goodreads Rating: 3.88
Order on Amazon
From the publisher: When Jules first meets Kirin, she’s still mourning her husband’s death, but a fairytale romance soon sweeps her off her feet. Now she and her daughter Scout are moving out of the city and into Kirin’s once-lonely mansion. Scout is determined to keep her father’s memory alive by rejecting the new life, but Scout’s sullenness begins to fade when she finds a beautiful handmade doll in one of the empty rooms in the house.
4) Someone in the Attic by Andrea Mara
Goodreads Rating: 3.88
Order on Amazon
From the publisher: Anya is enjoying a bath when she hears a noise coming from the ceiling. Through the open bathroom door, she sees the attic hatch swing down, and a masked figure drops to the floor. Thirty seconds later, Anya is dead. Across town, Anya’s old friend, Julia, sees an online video of a masked figure climbing out of an attic. She realizes why the footage is eerily familiar: it was filmed inside her house in a luxury gated community, designed to keep intruders out. Why would a stranger target Julia? Unless it’s not a stranger at all.

5) The Locked Door by Freida McFadden
Goodreads Rating: 4.04
Order on Amazon
From the publisher: While 11 year old Nora was up in her bedroom doing homework, she had no idea her father was killing women in the basement. Until the day the police arrived at their front door. Decades later, Nora’s father is spending his life behind bars, and Nora is a successful surgeon with a quiet, solitary existence. Nora’s not a killer like her father. The police can’t pin anything on her. As long as they don’t look in her basement.
6) That’s Not My Name by Megan Lally
Goodreads Rating: 4.11
Order on Amazon
From the publisher: Shivering and bruised, a teen wakes up on the side of a dirt road with no memory of how she got there―or who she is. A passing officer takes her to the police station, and not long after, a frantic man arrives. He’s been searching for her for hours. He has her school ID, her birth certificate, and even family photos. He is her father. Her name is Mary. Or so he says. Read my full review here.
