Spring is fast approaching, which means it’s time to tackle our spring cleaning. Unlike most, I enjoy cleaning and love catching up on new albums and podcasts while doing so. For those who don’t enjoy it so much, I’ve created a list of 4 simple products that’ll make this year’s spring cleaning a breeze. Don’t worry about breaking a sweat because these products will effortlessly tackle tough stains along with dirt and grime in just a few minutes.

Many of these powerful cleaners are natural, chemical-free, and affordable. They effectively remove build up, grease, and deodorize with just a simple soak. You may already have some of these items in your household and pantry right now. In the case that you don’t, I’ve included links for each product so you can conveniently add them to your Amazon cart. Are you ready to get started on your spring cleaning? Here are 4 products that’ll make your spring cleaning easier.
1) Dawn Dish Soap Dawn dish soap is a must have household cleaner. Not only is it an effective degreaser that leaves everything spotless, but it’s also useful in other areas than the kitchen. Creating your own cleaner with Dawn is so easy. I add 3-4 drops of Dawn into a 16oz spray bottle and mix with water, that’s it! I love using this spray on windows, glass, and mirrors. It leaves a streak-free shine and it’s more effective than the popular glass cleaners on the market.
2) White Vinegar If you’re looking for a natural and inexpensive product to clean all areas in your home, it’s distilled white vinegar. White vinegar is a great multi-purpose cleaner that’s non-toxic, eco-friendly, and kills bacteria. I reach for white vinegar whenever I am looking to remove hard water stains in the shower, sinks, and appliances. Here are some other ways to use white vinegar.
- Brighten and soften clothes naturally by adding a cup of white vinegar to your laundry.
- Descale your coffee maker and kettle by adding equal parts of water and vinegar. Bring the kettle to a boil and let it sit for 15-30 minutes before rinsing. Run an extra cycle with just tap water for your coffee maker to get rid of any remaining residue.
- Deep clean your shower head by soaking it in equal parts of white vinegar and water for 30 minutes to an hour. The timing will depend on how much build up there is.
3) Baking Soda Baking soda is the holy grail when it comes to multi-purpose cleaning products. It’s affordable and it gets the job done right. There are so many ways to use baking soda in your cleaning routine, here are a few examples.
- Presoak your laundry with ½ cup of baking soda. This helps to neutralize odors, lift dirt and grime, and leaves your clothes looking brighter.
- Mix baking soda with a little bit of water to create a paste to remove stains on clothing, couches, mattresses, rugs, and carpet.
- If you have a glass stovetop with stains, sprinkle baking soda on top along with some water. Leave the mixture for several minutes and gently buff with a soft microfibre cloth.
4) Essential Oils Now that your home is clean, keep it smelling fresh with natural essential oils. Some of my favorite scents to use include lemon, orange, peppermint, tea tree, and lavender. Remember that a few drops go a long way! Here are some ways to incorporate essential oils into your spring cleaning.
- Add a few drops onto a clean cloth, wool dryer ball, or Kleenex, and keep it in your drawers and closets to keep the area smelling fresh.
- If you like to DIY your own multi-purpose cleaner, add a few drops of your favorite scent.
- Create your own room spray and keep in handy in areas such as your bathroom, laundry room, and bedroom.
What are some products you love that make your cleaning routine easier? Which product are you looking forward to using the most? I’d love to hear your thoughts. I hope these tips were helpful and wish you all the best with your spring cleaning! For more productivity posts, visit my tag here.

3 cheers for Dawn! It is a killer cleaner! I use it for laundry stains on my kiddo’s clothes. It works like a champ. I need to use your other ideas more frequently than I do. I often will think of them for a single application rather than keeping them a part of my cleaning arsenal all the time. Thanks for the reminder and all the great tips!

Vinegar and baking soda are top tier for cleaning! I also kid the two and spray my bathroom and sinks with it, letting it sit for a bit and then cleaning. Works like a charm! I also love Mrs. Meyers cleaning sprays as they don’t have any harsh chemicals. Great post! I’m starting my spring cleaning this weekend as well😊

Yes, yes, yes, and YES! These are all products that are must-haves in my home. I recently got the Dawn powerwashing spray soap and it has been a gamechanger. I use it in my shower and it gets ALL the gunk off from my red hair constantly staining the shower floor, which is amazing. I also swear by the other three things because they’re all “clean” cleaning products and don’t make me feel sick, whereas a lot of other cleaning products do!
Her Digital Coffee says
I’ve heard such wonderful things about the Dawn Powerwash spray! The fumes from the chemical cleaners used to make me feel sick as well. I’m happy there are natural and effective alternatives. Thank you for reading Stephanie!

These were really useful tips. I’ve wondered about the wonders of vinegar but always been put off because of the smell. Do you just hose the area down with water after?
Thanks for sharing!
Her Digital Coffee says
Yes! Give everything a good rinse afterwards. I don’t like the smell of vinegar either, so I’ll let items soak in well ventilated areas or have the windows opened while using. Thank you for reading Emily!
