Five strangers take shelter inside a roadside diner, as they are witnessing one of the worst snowstorms Indiana has ever seen. It’s Christmas, which means there’s no one else in sight to clear the roads or help with car troubles. All is fine until the power at the diner cuts out. It seems as though the horrid weather conditions will be the least of their troubles, as a sixth stranger makes a visit to the diner.

The jolliest time of the year quickly turns bloody as the diners find themselves fighting for their lives. This Christmas won’t just be white. It’ll be red too.

The Visitor was fantastic. The story was action packed, gruesome, and everything a genre fan would hope for. Sergio Gomez took the readers on a wild rollercoaster ride. I can’t think of a better setting than a desolate roadside diner on Christmas, a blazing snowstorm, characters from all walks of life, and the mysteries that surround the sixth visitor.
This was my first introduction to Gomez’s work and I absolutely loved his writing style. He did a wonderful job creating tension in the story. There were so many action packed moments and he did not lose or bore the reader with any unnecessary details. My only critic is that I wish this book were longer! The Visitor is a novella that’s meant to be a quick and exciting read for the holidays, but it left me wanting more.
Gomez is definitely the next author in the horror genre to look out for. I’m glad I came across his writing and I’m looking forward to diving into his other works this holiday season. If you’re a fan of horror and science fiction, I highly recommend The Visitor. It’s a great addition to your holiday reading list. With only 72 pages, you can certainly finish this book in one sitting. Get your copy of The Visitor on Amazon today.
