While things may still look a bit different because of the pandemic, there are ways to partake safely. Please continue to follow safety regulations and guidelines. If you’re looking for some ideas for both indoor and outdoor activities, I’ve got you covered! Here are 6 exciting activities to enjoy this holiday season.
Staying In
1) Make Festive Treats Food is a huge staple during the holidays. It’s a time where we can get together and try new recipes or share old favorites. My favorite Christmas recipes include sugar cookies, cranberry loafs, and a classic hot chocolate.
2) Watch Movies Now that you’ve got your baked goodies, it’s time to cozy up on the couch with your favorite holiday movie. If you’re not with company, consider having a watch party online. Netflix, Disney+, and Amazon Prime are a few that offer this function. Some of my favorite holiday films include Home Alone, Home Alone 2, Elf, and A Charlie Brown Christmas.
3) Decorate a Gingerbread House Gingerbread houses are a ton of fun to make. You can really show off your creativity. If you’re not with company, I highly recommend video calling a friend or family member and putting them together virtually. I haven’t picked up my own kit yet, but I’ve been eyeing this KitKat Log Cabin Kit for a while now!
Going Out
4) Look at Christmas Lights Tour the holiday light displays in your local community. It’s a great option if you’d like to get out of the house and spend some time outdoors. There are also attractions that give you the option to view them from the warmth and comfort of your own vehicle. Check local activities for more information.
5) Ice Skating Visit your local outdoor skating rink this holiday season. It’s free and you can enjoy the outdoors while getting some exercise. If there are a few of you who prefer to sit out, there are rinks that offer hot chocolate, a fire pit, and a place to have a good conversation.
6) Tobogganing/Sledding Bundle up and take your friends and family to a tobogganing/sledding hill. It’s a perfect way to enjoy the snow. Share some laughs and make beautiful memories along the way. Don’t forget to snap some photos!
I hope you all have a wonderful holiday season. May it be filled with rest, relaxation, and time spent with your loved ones. For those who cannot physically be with loved ones, I hope you take advantage of your devices to stay connected. What’s one holiday activity you’re excited for this Christmas? We have not gotten any snow yet or the first thing I would do is rush outside for some winter fun, then come back in for hot chocolate and cookies! I have never tried a cranberry loaf, but I am looking it up now and it sounds absolutely delicious!
The movie marathon has already begun in my house. We have watched five of our favorite films with more to come. Thanks for sharing your festivity recommendations. 🙂

I’m hoping you get some snow soon! There’s nothing better than warming up with a cup of hot cocoa afterwards! You should definitely try a cranberry loaf, they’re so delicious! Thank you for reading Jaya. Happy holidays!

Love these suggestions! Sadly, the outdoors ones are out. 🙁 Still no snow, no ice skating rinks because of corona, and lights aren’t a big thing here. But I can do all those indoor ones and I am planning on going full out on those! One of my favourite holiday things is baking and I recently got a new cake tin (is that the right word) in the shape of a Christmas tree so I am baking some cake! And we got a ton of movies to watch (including some Christmas) so eep!
Happy Christmas!
Her Digital Coffee says
I hope you get some snow soon! I love the sound of the cake tin shaped as a tree! So festive! I hope you have a great time baking and enjoying Christmas movies. Happy Christmas Mehsi!
