Her Digital Coffee officially turns 5! I can’t believe how quickly time has flown, but it feels so special to be sitting here once again celebrating another year of blogging. In my previous celebration posts, I’ve answered questions from the community, shared what I’ve learned, and compiled a list of my favorite posts from the past.
This year, I’ve decided to revisit some common questions about blogging and I’m glad to say that my perspective has changed with more experience. Thank you for continuing to be apart of this journey and celebrating these milestones with me.
How often should I publish blog posts?
Create a realistic schedule that’ll allow you to post consistently. Whether that’s publishing 2 posts a week or 2 posts a month, because readers value consistency. As long as you establish some sort of schedule, you can always adjust down the road if you have more or less time. For a more in-depth answer that I still stand by today, visit my previous celebration post here.
How do people find my blog?
Social media! When I started blogging, I created an account on Instagram, X, Pinterest, etc, but trying to grow multiple social media accounts all at once got overwhelming fast. I understand the importance of gaining exposure on multiple platforms, but I’d suggest starting on a social media app that you are already familiar with and go from there.
Even to this day, with newer platforms popping up like BlueSky or Threads, it still feels overwhelming trying to build an audience all over again, but you don’t need to be on every single platform for successful exposure. As long as you’re consistent in whatever platform you’re using, new readers will find you.
Can I get traffic without social media?
Perhaps, if you’re connecting with other writers through their websites and with their audience, but social media is a powerful and necessary tool for online growth. When you display your work on social media, you’re allowing yourself to be seen and found by those who resonate and connect with you.
Can I use AI to write blog posts?
It depends on your niche, but in this creative space there are so many talented writers and their success comes from building genuine human connections. You attract an audience from sharing your personal thoughts, opinions, and feelings, all which are things that cannot be replaced by AI.
As author Joanna Maciejewska said, “I want AI to do my laundry and dishes so that I can do art and writing, not for AI to do my art and writing so that I can do my laundry and dishes.” She’s basically referring to the importance of making time for art and creative expression, rather than relying on tools like AI to create it for us.
Is the blogging space oversaturated?
This idea can be the case with just about anything in life, but don’t let that stop you from starting. There is space for everyone and your individual spark is what sets you apart from others. Your personal thoughts and opinions could be exactly what someone else needs to hear right now in this world.
Thank YOU, my dedicated readers, for your continued love and support throughout the years. You’ve kept this online space going and I cannot thank you enough for making this such a safe and special place to freely share whatever’s going on in my mind.
Whether I’m excited about a new trend, product, or book, I truly appreciate the time you’ve spent reading my work and sharing your thoughts with me. Words cannot truly express how much I appreciate you. To my fellow writers, how would you answer the questions above? I’m curious to know!
