Mallory Quin has had a rough past. Fresh out of rehab and living in Safe Harbor with other housemates, her sponsor Russell encourages Mallory to start planning for her future starting with a job in a new environment. He arranges an interview for a babysitting job in the upscale suburban neighborhood Spring Brook, New Jersey.

Mallory meets Ted and Caroline Maxwell and their five-year-old son Teddy. Teddy loves to draw, and he’d show Mallory his sketches of trees, rabbits, and balloons. Not long after, Mallory starts noticing Teddy’s sketches becoming more worrisome. He presented Mallory with a sketch of his imaginary friend, Anya, and a man dragging Anya’s lifeless body through the woods… The same woods located right behind the Maxwell’s house.
Hidden Pictures is a page turner and my favorite horror book of the year. I began reading this book close to midnight and would’ve finished it in one sitting if it weren’t for the chilling sketches in the book. Rekulak did a wonderful job setting the tone, describing the scenery, and keeping you on the edge of your seat. Each character was well developed and had their own mystery, which made everyone a suspect. I had my own suspicions in the beginning and was glad to be proven wrong as the twists in this story were a complete blindside.
Hidden Pictures is the perfect book to kick off spooky season. It’s a story filled with twists and turns and it’ll leave you in shock. I highly recommend this book for horror lovers. Hidden Pictures is now available wherever books are sold. Order your copy on Amazon today!
