How to Reduce Your Carbon Footprint by Ellen Tout contains an array of practical information that we can use in our daily lives to minimize our impact on the environment. As someone who is always looking for ways to reduce my carbon footprint, I was pleased to have gained so much new information and tips from this book. Tout keeps the information short and simple, which makes the information very easy to digest.
Tout covers many ways to reduce your impact such as home improvements like heating and cooling, gardening, electricity, to shopping, finances, and more. Everything is well organized into categories and easy to navigate. I especially enjoyed the parts detailing how you can make sustainable changes in your home without affecting your quality of life. I also enjoyed the tips and quick facts located on the side of each chapter. For example, did you know that the average US household washes around 6,000 items a year? By doing fewer loads each month, we can avoid 20-30kg of CO2 emissions each year.
I highly recommend this book to everyone, it’s a quick, easy, and informative read and we could all do our part to make positive changes for the environment. Thank you to NetGalley and Watkins Publishing for providing me with both an eARC and physical copy of How to Reduce Your Carbon Footprint in exchange for my honest review. This book is available now on Amazon and wherever books are sold.
